COCKTAIL RECIPE: MAI TAI

A TASTE OF TROPICAL

If you’re looking to recreate the taste of the tropics at home, nothing beats the Mai Tai. Did you know the word ‘maitai’ means ‘good’ in Tahitian? We don’t know about you, but we think this fruity Tiki cocktail is much better than good! A lip-smacking mix of zingy orange and lime balanced with sweet pineapple and syrup. A real punch-bowl favourite!

INGREDIENTS:

Fancy a Mai Tai punch? Simply fill a bowl with plenty of ice and the following:

PREPARATION:

  • Mix the white rum, lime juice, sugar syrup and almond syrup in a cocktail shaker with lots of ice.
  • Strain into an ice filled tiki glass (or just your favourite cocktail glass) and pour over pineapple and orange juice.
  • Float the dark rum on the top.

SERVE:

Feel free to get inventive with your garnish on this one! We love the combination of a maraschino cherry and a slice of pineapple on a cocktail stick - but feel free to be creative with this one!
