Smoked Salmon and Rye Bread paired with "Hemp & Rye"

For this recipe, we spoke to Clare at easypeasy-lemonsqueezy. Her smoked salmon and rye bread canapés will add a touch of sophistication to any Christmas spread. The Hemp & Rye complements them perfectly — classic and just sharp enough to cut through the richness of the salmon and cream cheese.

 

Ingredients:

  • 35ml Rye Whiskey
  • 10ml Elderflower Liqueur
  • 10ml Dry Orange Curacao
  • 15ml Funkin Pro Hemp Syrup
  • 25ml Funkin Pro Lime Juice

 

Shake all ingredients together and add apple slices to garnish.

 

Mediterranean Topped Shortbreads paired with "Mango Mary"

Lucy from Food Goblin made out mouths water with these rosemary and parmesan shortbreads topped with sundried tomatoes, feta and black olives. They cry out for a sweet and refreshing cocktail, so Aiste came up with the Mango Mary.

The saltiness from the feta cheese and rosemary and parmesan shortbreads are balanced by the sweetness of the Funkin Mango Puree in the cocktail.

Ingredients:

  • 50ml Vodka
  • 50ml Funkin Pro Mango Puree
  • 25ml Funkin Pro Lime Juice
  • 3 drops of Tabasco
  • Pinch of Cayenne Pepper

 

In a mixer, give the ingredients a good shake and garnish with a length of ginger and a red chilli pepper.

Baked Camembert paired with "Gincognito"

The herbiness from the Gincognito complements the strong flavour of Le Coin de Mel’s baked camembert recipe, which has a coating of cashew nuts, apricot jam and chilli. Don’t worry about the chilli in this recipe, it is a non-spicy dish thanks to the sweet jam.

Ingredients:

  • 50ml Gin
  • 25ml Funkin Pro Lime Juice
  • 15ml Funkin Pro Hemp
  • 10 Coriander leaves

 

Build this cocktail over crushed ice and garnish with a refreshing sprig of mint.

Christmas Tree Swirls paired with "Blueberry Smash"

Pizza at Christmas? Yes, please. Deb from My Boys Club read our mind with this festive twist on the Italian classic. These blue cheese, mushroom and spinach swirls are a delightful nod to the festive cheeseboard, beautifully baked into our favourite doughy treat.

The Blueberry Smash is made with festive Sloe Gin and Funkin Blueberry Puree — offering the perfect balance of sweet and tartness to accompany these tasty treats.

Ingredients:

  • 50ml Sloe Gin
  • 25ml Funkin Pro Blueberry Puree
  • 25ml Funkin Pro Pure Pour Lime
  • 15ml Funkin Pro Hibiscus Syrup

 

Simply shake all ingredients in the mixer well and garnish with lemon peel and seasonal berries.

Chocolate and Vanilla Cake Canapes paired with Rumspresso Martini

For something a bit different, try a sweet canapé like this creation from Bakes from a Hackney Kitchen. Rebecca has created chocolate and vanilla cake canapés, a sweet treat for you and your guests.

Ingredients:

  • 35ml Havana 7 Especial Rum
  • 75ml Funkin Espresso Martini Mix
  • 15ml Mr. Black Coffee Liqueur

 

Shake it all up in a mixer and sprinkle three coffee beans, representing health, wealth and happiness, all of the well-wishes you want for a fantastic 2019.
