Not one to miss out on a trend, here at Funkin we have created our own '25 Days of Christmas' cocktail advent calendar. From the 1st December, we will be posting a different cocktail recipe to try, all the way up until the big day! That gives us 25 different cocktails to try this month… OK if we have to…

 

Saturday 1st December: Pornstar Martini

Being the number one cocktail in the UK means that we will be enjoying a couple of these over the festive season. Did you know that the Pornstar Martini was created using our FunkinPRO Passion Fruit Puree? Safe to say we know a thing or two about this one…

Ingredients

35ml Vanilla Vodka
15ml Passion Fruit Liqueur
25ml Funkin Passion Fruit Puree
10ml Funkin Passion Fruit Syrup
Shot of Prosecco

or

100ml Funkin Pre-Batched Passion Fruit Martini

50ml Vanilla Vodka

1 Shot of Prosecco

 

Method

Pour your preferred Vanilla Vodka, and all of the other ingredients into your Boston Shaker with plenty of ice and shake until the shaker feels ice cold. Strain into a Martini Glass and garnish with half a passion fruit and a shot glass of Prosecco on the side.

 

Sunday 2nd December: Sloe Gin Collins

This Sloe Gin Collins is a simple cocktail to share with a couple of friends to talk about how many more Christmas presents you need to get and how you can’t believe that it is this time of year already...

Ingredients

35 ml Sloe Gin
25 ml Pure Pour Lemon
100 ml Soda Water

 

Method

Build over ice in a highball glass and serve with a lemon wedge.

 

Monday 3rd December: Strawberry Daiquiri

One of the three great Cuban cocktails, start the week off as you mean to go on with a delightfully fruity Strawberry Daiquiri. Top with foam from your shaker to make this one look like an upside down Christmas hat!

Ingredients

50ml White Rum
25ml Funkin Pure Pour Lime
12.5ml Funkin Sugar Cane Syrup
35ml Funkin Strawberry Puree

Or

50ml White Rum

75ml Funkin Pre-Batched Strawberry Daiquiri

 

Method

Pour the ingredients into your Boston Shaker with plenty of ice and shake until the shaker feels ice cold. Strain into a chilled Martini glass and garnish with a strawberry on the side of the glass.

 

Tuesday 4th December: Mango & Lime Punch

Looking out of the window to dreary weather, how about a fruity Mango and Lime Punch to remind you of those warmer months? Don’t mind if we do!

Ingredients

50ml Coconut Rum
25ml Funkin Mango Puree
25ml Funkin Pure Pour Lime
15ml Funkin Sugar Cane Syrup
50ml Funkin Pineapple Puree

 

Method

Pour the ingredients into your Boston Shaker with plenty of ice and shake until the shaker feels ice cold. Pour and strain over a tall glass filled with plenty of ice and garnish with your choice of tropical ingredients.

 

Wednesday 5th December: Pineapple Express

This gin cocktail combines the tropical fruity flavour of pineapple with the earthy tones of our new FunkinPRO Hemp syrup. One to give a go over the festive season!

Ingredients

50ml Gin

50ml Pineapple Puree

25ml Pure Pour Lime

10ml Hemp Syrup

 

Method

Pour the ingredients into your Boston Shaker with plenty of ice and shake until the shaker feels ice cold. Pour and fine strain into a Coupette glass, garnishing with lemon and mint.

 

Thursday 6th December: Margarita or Jalapeno Margarita

We've never been able to think of a good reason to say no to a Margarita so why start now? If you're feeling a little adventurous, why not give our Jalapeno Margarita a try.

Ingredients

50 ml Anejo Tequila
100 ml Funkin Margarita Mix

Or

60 ml Tequila
30 ml Fresh Lime Juice
15 ml Cointreau
10ml Funkin Jalapeno Syrup

 

Method

Pour the ingredients into your Boston Shaker with plenty of ice and shake until the shaker feels ice cold. Strain into a salt-rimmed Martini glass and garnish with a wedge of lime.

 

Friday 7th December: Elderflower Collins

The refreshing Elderflower Collins will ease you into the weekend full of festivities and panic buying for the office Secret Santa.

Ingredients

100ml Funkin Pre-Batched Elderflower Collins

50ml Gin

 

Method

Pour the ingredients into your Boston Shaker with plenty of ice and shake until the shaker feels ice cold. Pour into a Collins glass and garnish with lemon zest.

 

Saturday 8th December: White Peach Bellini

A subtle twist on a drop of fizz, why not add some sweetness to your Prosecco with our White Peach puree?

Ingredients

30ml Funkin White Peach Puree

100ml Prosecco

 

Method

Simply combine 100ml of Prosecco with 30ml of Funkin Peach Puree. Serve in a champagne flute and gently stir.

 

Sunday 9th December: Espresso Martini

Need something to help you relax after completing a test run of Christmas dinner? Follow our simple recipe to ensure that a couple of Espresso Martini’s are at the ready at the exact moment you need them.

Ingredients

100ml Funkin Pre-Batched Espresso Martini mixer

50ml Vodka

Coffee Beans for Garnish

 

Method

Pour the ingredients into your Boston Shaker with plenty of ice and shake until the shaker feels ice cold. Garnish with three coffee beans in the centre of your Martini glass.

 

Monday 10th December: Rhubarb & Custard

Rhubard and Custards are sweets that you probably first tasted at your Grandma’s house and became obsessed with; who knew it would make such a great tasting cocktail? This recipe also serves four so you can show off to your friends and share the nostalgia.

Ingredients

100ml Vodka

100ml Funkin Rhubarb Syrup

30ml Advocaat
75ml Lemonade

 

Method

Shake the Vodka and Funkin Rhubarb Syrup together with ice until mixed and chilled down. In a separate jug, whisk together 5ml Advocaat and lemonade with more ice to lighten. Divide the vodka and rhubarb mixture between the glasses, straining through a small sieve to catch the ice. Carefully pour 25ml of your advocaat mixture into each glass over an upsidedown spoon (the mixture should float on the surface of the vodka syrup mixture).

 

Tuesday 11th December: Dark & Stormy

Something with a drop of Dark Rum is perfect for a Tuesday pick me up!

Ingredients

50ml Dark Rum
25ml Funkin Pure Pour Lime
5ml Funkin Sugar Cane Syrup
2 x Dashes Angostura Bitters
Top with Ginger Beer

 

Method

Build over ice in a Collins glass and serve with a lime wedge.

Thursday 13th December: Sweet Jenga

In case you haven’t scoffed as many Quality Streets as us, here is a sweet treat to keep you going throughout the festive period.

Ingredients

50ml Vodka
25ml Funkin Raspberry Puree
25ml Funkin Mango Puree
25ml Funkin Pure Pour Lime
15ml Funkin Sugar Cane Syrup

 

Method

Pour the Vodka, Raspberry Puree, Pure Pour Lime and Sugar Can Syrup into your Boston Shaker with plenty of ice and shake until the shaker feels ice cold. Pour into a Rocks glass and top with Mango Puree. Garnish with mint and dehydrated citrus slice.

 

Friday 14th December: Mexican Mule

If the Dark & Stormy was up your street, why not give this Tequila twist a try?

50ml Tequila

2 x Dashes Angostura Bitters

Saturday 15th December: Right in the Baubles

This one definitely tastes better than it sounds...

Ingredients

50ml Vanilla Vodka
50ml Ginger Beer
50ml Funkin Strawberry Daiquiri Mixer

 

Method

Build and churn with crushed ice in a tumbler glass. Garnish with mint sprig, berries and Christmas bauble.

 

Sunday 16th December: Snow Spiked Stiletto

A festive twist on a classic Bellini, simple and delicious!

Ingredients

50ml Funkin Pre-Batched Cosmopolitan Mixer
12.5ml Funkin Rhubarb Syrup
Top with Prosecco

 

Method

Combine the Rhubarb Syrup and Cosmo Mixer in the bottom of flute and top with Prosecco. For that extra festive feel, have white glitter on the rim of the flute that will sparkle like fresh snow and hook a candy cane on the side.

 

Monday 17th December: Resolution

After a weekend of Christmas parties and socialising, this is a great cocktail to start the week of better behaviour…. Maybe…

Ingredients

50ml White Rum

100ml Funkin Strawberry Daiquiri

2 Dashes Rhubarb Bitters

 

Method

Tuesday 18th December: Amaretto Sour

If you haven’t had enough of the Marzipan from your Christmas Cake, give this Amaretto Sour a try.

50ml Amaretto

100ml Funkin Sour Mix

Wednesday 19th December: Bramble

This modern classic is something easy to make in anticipation of the stress for the next few days, one to relax in front of the fire with.

50ml Gin

100ml Funkin Pre-Batched Bramble Mixer

Thursday 20th December: Raspberry Rudolph

With the name and our Funkin Spiced Syrup giving this cocktail a sufficient festive feel, why not give it a try with some friends?

Ingredients

50ml Spiced Rum
35ml Funkin Raspberry Puree
10ml Funkin Pure Pour Lime
15ml Funkin Spiced Syrup
50ml Cloudy Apple Juice

 

Method

Pour the ingredients into your Boston Shaker with plenty of ice and shake until the shaker feels ice cold. Strain and serve over ice into a Collins glass, garnish with a lime wedge and a raspberry.

 

Friday 21st December: Sparkling Reunion

This sharing cocktail is our twist on Sangria, making it perfect for the pre-Christmas weekend gathering - sure to be a crowd pleaser!

Ingredients

1 Bottle of Sparkling Wine
50ml Raspberry Purée
50ml Morello Cherry Purée
25ml Funkin Pro Spiced Syrup
25ml Funkin Pure Pour Lemon

1 Sachet of Mulled Wine Spices

 

Method

Pour all ingredients in a large bowl, with the mulled wine spices and leave to infuse overnight. Gently heat on the stove and serve.

 

Saturday 22nd December: Rossini

An easy to make cocktail but sure to give your Christmas party a fruity twist!

Ingredients

30ml Funkin Pro Strawberry Puree

Finish with Champagne or Prosecco

 

Method

Simply pour 30ml of Funkin Pro Strawberry Puree in a Champagne flute and top up the glass with Champagne or Prosecco.

 

Sunday 23rd December: Rumspresso Martini

A warming twist on the classic Espresso Martini, why not use Rum instead of vodka?

Ingredients:

35ml Havana 7 Especial Rum

75ml Funkin Espresso Martini Mix

15ml Mr. Black Coffee Liqueur

 

Method

Pour the ingredients into your Boston Shaker with plenty of ice and shake until the shaker feels ice cold. Strain and serve over ice into a Martini glass, garnish with three coffee beans, representing health, wealth and happiness, all of the well-wishes you want for a fantastic Christmas.

 

Monday 24th December: Pina Colada 

We have it on good authority that Father Christmas loves Pina Colada's and getting caught in the rein...deer?

Ingredients

50ml White Rum (or Malibu for extra coconut!)

100ml Pina Colada

 

Method

Tuesday 25th December: Mango Mary
